History of Denton and Sons Water Wells
Serving Grant, Newaygo, Sand Lake,
West Michigan, Kent County, Greater Grand Rapids and the entire state of Michigan since 1860
In the News: Michigan Drilling Company Going Strong for Six Generations
SINCE 1860 ~ 7 GENERATIONS ~ 160 YEARS
Denton and Sons started the well drilling business because "there were no well drillers in the area." 160 years later, the company that started because there were no well drillers in the area is still there. Denton and Sons Water Well Drilling of Sand Lake was founded in 1860 by Mickey Denton's great-great-great grandfather, at that time a recent arrival from Ireland.
Today, the company's status as the oldest drilling firm in the region has earned it a reputation that is hard to beat. There are over 30 drillers in the area vying for the same jobs and competition is stiff. Denton and Sons has built their reputation on honesty by providing quality work at a fair price using well-maintained equipment.
The company is owned and operated by Jim Denton, Coady Denton, and Ted Denton. We have 10-15 trained professionals ready to help and assist people in all the water problems 24/7 365 days a year serving the entire state of Michigan!
Today, 85% of the wells Denton drills are domestic. Industrial, municipal, and irrigation wells account equally for the remaining 15 percent. Most typically a well will range from 4 to 8 inches in diameter, be 100 feet deep, cased to the bottom and will yield anywhere from 20 to 200 gallons per minute; however, every job is different. You never know until you are done if till will turn out to be a relatively ordinary installation or one that requires a great deal of determination and sweat.
